We drove up to the mountains to get away from the heat of Vegas. It was a good 30 degrees cooler up there, but still warm. On the way up, there was a checkpoint where the ranges and police were checking each vehicle for fireworks. We got up to the upper lodge, walked around a little, and then had lunch and a couple of beers outside on the deck. Now it is cat nap time before heading to Red Rock Casino for dinner and fireworks.
